Model ViP922 Concept

Initially known as the “722s,” the 922 can be thought of as a 722 with Sling technology built in.
The information here is based on SatelliteGuys.US Team Summit 2008 coverage, Multichannel News article Innovation Shines in Nashville, CES 2009 coverage, and assumptions that features of the 722 will carry over.
Availability / Upgrade Offers
- Shown at CES 2009 where it won a “cnet Best of CES 2009” award in the Home Video category
- The CES press release gives a spring 2009 target date. Representatives at the Dish display were saying spring or summer. Charlie Ergen on the March Charlie Chat said around June 1.
- Dealers who attended Team Summit will be able to demo/test in early June, with a target of August 2009 for release to subscribers
- On the Dec 2009 Charlie Chat, Charlies estimates a Feb 2010 release

Features
- 2 HD satellite tuners
- No OTA tuner but the MT2 tuner module can be added. With this module both TV1 and TV2 can watch separate OTA channels at the same time. The tuner also adds a modulator which can output video signals
out to channel 2 or 3 for home distribution. (Info quoted from SatelliteGuys.US Team Summit 2008 coverage, and assuming it builds on the 722k architecture.)
